Welcome Back

Dear Children, Parents and Carers,

On behalf of all the staff at Willow Bank Primary School, I would like to wish you all a Happy New Year. We hope that you all had a good time over the festive break and look forward to working with you over the course of the next term and year.
IPC Units of Work this term include:

Y1 – A to B Transport & Travel
Y2 – The Circus is coming to Town
Y3 – Explorers & Adventurers
Y4 – Gateway to the World
Y5 – Earth as an Island
Y6 – What price progress?

Ask your children about their immersion days and learning linked to their topics.

As you know, we launched a new homework policy at the end of last term – more information can be found within the school website. Your child has been given a new homework book and this terms homework will be due in on Friday 8th February. All homework has been linked to the Thinking Hats strategy. We really hope you like this new approach.

This term, we are delighted to welcome a Pop Up Book Hut from the London Children’s Book Project – books found in the hut are for you and your families to choose from and take home to read.

Big Learning Mornings and Class Assemblies will continue over the course of the term – dates can be found on the school website.

On the 22nd January, 2019, we will be hosting another volunteer recruitment afternoon – please do come along if you are interested in being a volunteer.

Across the week commencing 28th January, 2019, we will be celebrating National Storytelling Week – please look out for further information coming soon.

Safer Internet Week will take place from 4th – 8th February, 2019, and on 8th February we will host a PSHE Celebration Day focusing on how we keep ourselves safe.

Parent Consultation Evening takes place on 7th February – we look forward to seeing you there and will be asking you to complete a further parent survey so we can find out your views about your child’s learning and our school.

On the 15th February (final day of term), Mrs Malhi will be celebrating children’s house point achievements with another Hot Chocolate and Cookies afternoon tea.

All events and regular updates about our school will be shared on our website, Twitter feed (@willowbankpri) and Facebook page.

With kind regards,

Miss Ingrams
